Dabangg" is a 2010 action-comedy film directed by Abhinav Kashyap and produced by Arbaaz Khan. The film stars Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Arbaaz Khan, Sonu Sood, Vinod Khanna, Dimple Kapadia, and Anupam Kher in key roles. It also marks the debut of Sonakshi Sinha.

The story revolves around Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan), who lives with his stepbrother Makhanchand "Makkhi" Pandey, stepfather Prajapati Pandey (Vinod Khanna), and mother Naina Devi (Dimple Kapadia) in Lalganj, Uttar Pradesh. Chulbul is often angry because his stepfather favors Makkhi. Years later, Chulbul becomes a police officer and, during a bank robbery, takes down the criminals but keeps the stolen money for himself. Though he sees himself as a Robin Hood figure, his family still doesn't appreciate him.

Makkhi (Arbaaz Khan) is in love with a village girl, Nirmala (Mahie Gill), but her father, Masterji (Tinu Anand), opposes their relationship. Meanwhile, Chulbul falls for Rajjo (Sonakshi Sinha), whom he meets during a police encounter. Chulbul also crosses paths with Cheddi Singh (Sonu Sood), a corrupt politician. Cheddi warns Chulbul that the men he arrested were part of his political party and that the money was for party funds. Cheddi offers to forgive Chulbul if he works for him, but Chulbul declines.
