The Gross Beauty of BONES AND ALL

This is a spoiler video essay breakdown of the very strange but beautiful romance/horror movie known as Bones and All (2022), starring Timothée Chalamet as Lee and Taylor Russell as Maren and based on the young adult novel.

In this video, we analyze/discuss the hidden meaning and get to the heart of this engrossing (emphasis on the gross part) film that just wants us to see the flesh positive parasites of our society as human, no different than the rest of us. We also discuss director Luca Guadagnino's previous film, Call Me By Your Name, which surprisingly enough, shares some similarities with Bones and All (no, Armie Hammer does not eat Timothée Chalamet in that one). Oh, and just in case you know nothing about the whole Bones and All story, we got you on a plot recap.

In Bones and All, Maren is a coming of age people eater who meets Lee, a fellow flesh gobbler on the run. Together, they fall in love and take rural America by storm (and stop for a few yummy snacks along the way). In the end, it's all a snapshot of a moment in time, so don't forget to live in that moment and quit being all judgy when it comes to weird outcasts who just want to eat people.
