At a news conference on Parliament Hill, Pierre Poilievre, the Conservative finance critic, discusses his party’s proposal to resolve an impasse at the House of Commons finance committee. Liberal members of the committee have filibustered as opposition members have sought to continue an examination of the federal government’s now-cancelled agreement with WE Charity. The Conservatives are suggesting that redacted WE Charity documents, other than those classified as cabinet confidentialities, be handed over to the Parliamentary law clerk for review and to report back on whether the redactions are justified.
