HAPPY FIRST ANNIVERSARY (WEEK) TO US! Anand and I tied the knot almost one year ago on August 31st, 2019. I wanted to recreate the highlights with all the events and the moments that made us smile. I hope you enjoy the highlights and stay tuned for all the performances!

WEDDING EVENT DESCRIPTION:

Sangeet: Traditionally sangeet is celebrated with the ladies of the household singing folk songs and the night is ended with lively dancing. We wanted to incorporate everything in this event so our close friends and family could have fun performing, singing, and doing garba till we got kicked out.

Grahshanti/Ganesh Stahpan: In this puja we pray and invite Lord Ganesh- the lord of new beginnings into our homes and hearts to bless all members as they embark on a new journey together.

Pithi/Haldi Ceremony: The Bride and Groom are seated while the family members cover their face and body with a turmeric and chickpea flour paste. This paste is applied to ensure both have bright, glowing, healthy, skin for their big day. #Skincare

Fun fact: If the bride or groom applies the haldi on a unwed individual, it said to be goodluck and maybe they too will get married in the near future...i have a 75% success rate 😉

Wedding: The day we’ve all been anticipating, a celebration of love, gratitude, family, and new beginnings. This day is celebrated to cherish the moment two families become one and where two hearts become one.

Reception: Post wedding celebrations to highlight the upbringing and story of the Bride and Groom. Usually we fill the receptions with lots of speeches, dances, and laughs. Our first dance was so special, our MCs captured exactly how we felt, alongside our family and friends surprised us with the best performances we could have ever dreamt of.

Thank you everyone who made our wedding week the best it could have been, it truly is unforgettable, and we wish we could go back and do it all over again!
