Last week we did a rapid fire video of all my favorite stuff in oahu, and this week we’re gonna be taking a deeper look into the big island. Like before we aren’t gonna be doing a bunch of cooking but we will be touching on a bunch of the stuff we did on this trip that you might not see on some other Hawaiian itineraries, and covering some lessons that makes the big island special .
Mochiko tuna belly recipe:

Ahi tuna belly(much cheaper than ahi loin in hawaii, but use whatever you want)

4. Turn off heat and add in 2 tbsp of cold butter
5. Stir to melt butter and emulsify sauce
Tuna:
1. Season tuna steaks with salt and grated ginger
2. Evenly coat in mochiko rice flour
3. Pan fry in 2 tbsp oil 3-4 min on each side
4. When crispy and medium/med rare, allow to drain on paper towel or cooling rack
Serving instructions:
1. First plate cabbage with miso cooking liquid/sauce
2. Top with tuna
3. Place salsa over tuna(try to not completely cover the tuna to preserve crisp crust)
4. Enjoy!
