Shuja Nawaz, an America based renowned scholar and acclaimed author of, "Cross Swords : Pakistan Army and, wars within," while in conversation with journalist Azaz Syed, shares how the military was badly reported by IB and the ISI back in 1970. He shares the details of his first-hand information regarding General Yahya and his last days in power. He also shared the diplomatic and military fronts Pakistan was engaged in during and soon after, in the 1970 elections. An expert on the history of the Pakistan Army, Nawaz also shed light on the resignation of General Yahya Khan after the surrender in Bangladesh. He narrated one story in which he was supposed to address the nation on behalf of Gen Yahya. While noting the lessons of the 1970 elections and the post-election crisis, Azaz Syed also posed questions to Shuja Nawaz asking him about the mode of military thinking and options Gen Asim Munir has to resolve the on going crisis. In this connection, Shuja Nawaz gave some of his recommendations to resolve the current political and economic crisis faced by Pakistan.
