One of the areas that demons enter is when a person believes the lies of the devil, (knowingly or unknowingly), accepts the lies as truth, meditates on the lies, speaks the lies. Many times these loud lies in the mind come after being abused: shame, unworthiness, lies about your identity, etc. When a person doesn't reject these lies, this becomes an open door for demons. This is why it's important to be properly equipped. The milky lukewarm church food won't do it. This is why God gave us the five-fold ministry (Ephesians 4:11).

It is also important to never feel shameful or make anyone feel ashamed for needing deliverance. Many times it's not even a person's "fault" that they need deliverance. Even if a person sinned and that is why they need deliverance (it caused the open door), the blood of Jesus covers all sin and when a person repents, their sins are washed away completely!
