This piece is the third in Cornelius Gurlitt’s easy piano studies, Op. 130. Often referred to as “The Gentle Maiden,” it serves as a lovely contrast to the mischievous pieces preceding it. Gurlitt was a prolific 19th-century German composer known for his engaging and educational repertoire for piano students.

Difficulty & Technique:

This beginner piano piece is typically considered a Grade 2 level, making it suitable for both young learners and adult beginners in their first years of piano lessons.
I’ve included an overhead shot of the piano keys to help you follow fingering options.
While it’s not in the original notation, I’ve added light pedaling to smoothly connect the notes.
