Hurricane Lee will bring Land Impacts this Week...

Hurricane Lee will bring impacts to land, and it will not escape safely out to sea. As Lee turns to the north, the wind field expands. This means tropical storm conditions are highly likely for Bermuda, starting on Thursday.

After that, Hurricane Lee will weaken, but will bring widespread tropical storm conditions from Eastern New England, through Nova Scotia, and even parts of Newfoundland. The core of the hurricane will erode, which is good, so this will not be as strong as Hurricane Fiona was last September. But as it weaken, the wind field gets wider, so more locations will feel gusty tropical storm conditions.

A strong tropical wave that just came off the coast of Africa, should become the next named system (Nigel). It will be slow to develop, but eventually become a tropical storm and then a hurricane. It will approach the Eastern Caribbean early next week, but it is still too early to tell if it will make the curve (like Lee) or enter directly into the Caribbean.
