Harun (15) has always been fascinated with computers. But coming from a family that barely could meet their own ends, his desire to learn only remained a dream.

Rani, a 19-year-old college student from a remote village in the North, wanted to be a freelance graphic designer. But to her dismay, there was no training facility near her.

The stories of Harun and Rani are just two of the tens of thousands of citizens in Bangladesh.

Can E-learning be a solution?

MuktoPaath is one such initiative of the Bangladesh Government to address such stories. It brings skill-based professional and academic courses to every citizen’s fingertips.

The Bengali word ‘Mukto’ means free or unbound; whereas ‘Paath’ stands for learning or education. As the name justifies, MuktoPaath is a platform of free education.

Launched in 2016, MuktoPaath has been addressing important issues of education.

In the past, Lack of proper digital infrastructure made it difficult for the population to access learning materials increasing the time, cost, and visits.
