Alright, and now the field command in game.... I'm issuing directives by unit stack at this point, command variables get more detailed and can also be governed by the artificial intelligence module if you don't like doing this sort of thing....

I do, I enjoy mapping out operatives outside of the game and putting them to work as such in game.... it works incredibly well..... the game is so detailed that planning attack sequence and operatives on a map is worth doing and makes a difference.... just like the real thing.... from a 4 star generals perspective anyway.... pretty good simulator anyway....

This is the opening of Barbarossa, this first movement is not a 'blitzkrieg' manuever, a blitzkrieg is a tactic within a general plan. A blitzkrieg is a centralized attack that is preceded by focused and heavy/ maximum air support along a path of intended approach. A spearhead is the second componenent of a blitzkrieg, which consists of fast moving armored vehicles artillary and infantry with light tank support to create a divide in enemy lines. The spearhead follows close behind the airsupport and makes ground quickly and effectively creating disorder and confusion along an enemy front line by overwhelming a defined point of an enemy's line. The third component of a blitzkrieg is pincer attacks from the flanks (sides, and rear) of an enemy line, and these advances do just that in pinch the wings of the remaining and broken enemy line, The enemy lines are quickly surrounded and the advance now meets at a center point that closes in on the surrounded army now removed from supply and reinforcement. The end result is decimation or surrender of encircled army groups. and is how a proper ''blitz'' is conducted.

I engineer a blitz every so often.... as of right now there is no defined position along Russia's front, this is at this point a centralized 'general advance' Russia's armed forces are about 6 times larger than that of my own so advancing in an orderly manner and maintaining strong supply lines is a must (counting my reserves of equal volume to my deployed) What I have deployed on my map is about 1/5th of the volume of equipment and troops that took part in the actual invasion (German) wise.

The equipment I am using is accurate to detail in regards to what the German armed forces had available in 41, I have some Panzer IV F2's in there which I do not think took part in the first wave rather were refitted with a larger gun capable of piercing T-34 armor efficiently which is what makes an 4 F2 different from a 4 C thru F-1 overall; that and thickened armor used in constructing the hull and turret with more crap/spare parts added to the outside of the tank as well....they are the primary upgrades to my knowledge..... not sure about the engine and drivetrain or suspension. The Russians a.i. builds a lot of KV2's because the attributes are better than the KV1.... In reality the KV2 (which was a nice tank but was not thoroughly thought out at the design table) had major design flaws which made it top heavy at the turret and in turn they often tipped over and so they never really took off for Russia the way they had been planned as a formidable battle tank......The Klement Voroshiv (KV) tanks eventually evolved into the IS-tank series...... (The Joseph Stalin tank) later in the war.

The bulk of my army is mobile arty, towed arty, SDKFZ 251 halftracks (the single most produced armored vehicle of the war in Germany) Panzer III's, II's Flamm, Kampfwagon Ausf A's which were the first mass produced armored tracked vehicle in Germany under Hitlers command, and Some 3 N tanks as well.... Tanks are great, Too many tanks suck.... Tanks aren't particularly fast and artillary cannon's have a far longer range and impact. Tank's are nice but don't define an army....... they are not better than all other units just because they are tanks.... movement, range, and intended use is key to application of tanks.... I'll use more tanks in this opening phase than at any other point in the operation overall.

Barbarossa will take about 10 hours to complete Then there comes Case Blue, involving the Kaukases and the famous struggle over Stalingrad and a series of major Russian counter offensives. Tada. Reichskommisariat's and thier leaders will become available in early 42, I can either keep the aquired lands or establish Kommisariat's led by historical Kommisar's. annnnd that's about that for Supreme Ruler that I care to share....
