Описание к видео Jewish Writing During the Holocaust w/ Samuel Kassow and Deborah Dash Moore

DEBORAH DASH MOORE, Frederick G. L. Huetwell Professor of History and Professor of Judaic Studies at the University of Michigan and Editor in Chief of The Posen Library of Jewish Culture and Civilization, speaks with SAMUEL D. KASSOW, the Charles H. Northam Professor of History at Trinity College, about The Posen Library of Jewish Culture and Civilization, Volume 9: Catastrophe and Rebirth, 1939–1973.

Collecting a wide breadth of Jewish primary sources—many translated into English for the first time—created during World War II and the period of transformation that followed it, Volume 9: Catastrophe and Rebirth, 1939–1973 explores Jewish perceptions of the momentous events of the mid-twentieth century and how Jewish people around the world redefined themselves in the face of tragedy, displacement, and dispersion during the subsequent Jewish diaspora. In this webinar, presented in collaboration with Holocaust Museum LA, Professors Dash Moore and Kassow discuss Jewish writers during and after the Holocaust.

The event was recorded on October 5, 2021.
