Iron and Aluminum Fence Post Cap Options

Описание к видео Iron and Aluminum Fence Post Cap Options

Whether you are using our Stronghold Iron or Infinity Aluminum fence line, you have two style options for the cap that goes on top of your posts. Our ball style and standard style post caps.

If you are using our Stronghold Iron line, these pieces will be made of cast iron and you can interchange post sizes. These examples here are our cast iron pieces.

If you are using our Infinity Aluminum line, these pieces will be made of cast aluminum and your post size will be determined by which grade of fence you are using.

Now let’s take a closer look at both styles.

Up first is our standard style of post cap. You will sometimes hear these referred to as flat caps as well. However, as you can see they are not flat. They subtlety rise to a point in the center. They sort of look like a very low-rise pyramid. They come in 2in, 2.5in, 3in, 4in and 6in sizes to match our posts.

Our other style of post cap is our ball style. As you can see, it’s a more decorative cap that looks like a ball on a pedestal. It’s a much more ornate looking cap. They also come in 2in, 2.5in , 3in, 4in and 6in sizes to accommodate all our post sizes.

When your posts are shipped to you, the caps will be loose like this. They do not come affixed to the post. That way we can offer different cap styles.

Some of our cap castings have these holes in them for attaching the cap. However, we’ve found over the years that adhesive works better than screws. When you tighten the screw down, it can sometimes pull the cap to one side and make it sit crooked. We include a tube of adhesive like this at no charge to install your post caps. The adhesive gives you more adjustment and lets you get your cap on nice and straight.

To give you an idea on the difference in look, let’s take our example piece of Stronghold Iron here. You can see our ball cap here on top of the post. The ball cap is usually installed like this where it sticks up above the finial tips and breaks up your line of sight across the fence line. It also adds some additional visual appeal with the more ornate look

If we swap the ball cap out for our standard cap, you can see it gives it a little sleeker and more muted look. The standard caps usually sit closer in line with the final tips rather than above them.

I hope this video gave you a better visual look at your iron and aluminum post cap options.
