Stokkrós (Althaea rosea) sem oftast er seld hjá fræsölum er venjulega ræktuð sem einær, en er í eðli sínu tvíær á sama hátt og stjúpmæður. Er þá sáð til hennar síðla vetrar febrúar-marz og getur hún orðið allt að einum metra að hæð á fyrsta ári og blómstrað síðla sumars.
