Contraindications morphine//opioid analgesics /not to be used// explained in tamil//Ec pharmacology

1. Avoid opioids in patients with respiratory
insufficiency - COPD.
2. An attack of bronchial asthma can be
precipitated by morphine.
3. In extremes of age - more susceptible to
respiratory depression.
4. Head injury - morphine is contraindicated
5. In hypovolaemic shock
6. Opioids potentiate CNS depressants
7. Undiagnosed acute abdomen pain
