Our journey from Port Blair to Langkawi — a 650+ nautical-mile offshore passage — was nothing short of intense.
As the last sailboat to leave the Andaman Islands before the South West Monsoon, we expected a challenge… but nature had bigger plans. 🌊

Day 1: Smooth sailing quickly turned wild. WNW winds 25 knots and 3 m swells transformed calm seas into chaos.
With reefs in our mainsail & staysail and hearty Indian food (momos, roti & paneer!) to keep spirits high, we pushed through the turbulence.

🐬 Amidst the rolling waves came magic — Kaeya spotted her first pod of dolphins alongside Reeva, a moment that made every struggle worthwhile.

But the sea wasn’t done testing us. Strong squalls, relentless motion, and endless sail-trimming drained us physically & mentally.
When conditions worsened, we made the tough call to divert toward Thailand, seeking a break from the monsoon’s wrath.

And just when we thought it couldn’t get harder… Reeva’s engine failed at night.
This became one of our toughest offshore passages yet — a real test of seamanship, endurance & spirit.
