Olivia Visits the Mall - Part 2

Описание к видео Olivia Visits the Mall - Part 2

April 8, 2007 - It is clear in this video that Olivia has progressed and become more independent in just 3 weeks(see Part 1). She can take on obstacles, turns quite well and doesn't need to rely on big brother as much anymore.

Olivia was born with 22q13 Deletion Syndrome, otherwise known as Phelan-McDermid Syndrome. This syndrome occurs when a microscopic piece on one of the 22nd chromosomes is missing. This effects walking, motor skills and speech.

Olivia is using the Rifton Pacer Gait Trainer in stylish racing red. She has the Size 2 frame with Size 1 accessories because she is so thin. It folds for transport and fits nicely in the back of our Subaru Outback.

You can buy these directly through the manufacturer. However, most purchase these through a Medical Supply company. The durable medical equipment will be partially covered through your private health insurance, secondary insurance will pick up the rest of the cost. You will need a prescription and letter of need for one of these. I have included a link so you can get an idea on pricing.
