I set out across the Nevada desert to locate a cemetery that appeared on an old map. Using my drone, I searched from above but found nothing—until I finally discovered the site hidden in the brush.

Instead of traditional headstones, the cemetery featured only the faint outlines of five or six graves, each marked by simple rock borders. Just above the site, I discovered remnants of an old camp, with rusted tin cans scattered across the ground—almost on top of the graves themselves.

A rock wall connected two sections of barbed wire fencing, adding to the mystery of who lived, worked, and died in this remote stretch of desert.
