The Forest an the Sea is a Song I wrote while covid lockdown.
At first I was inspired by the special sound of analog mono synths and the music of Pink Floyd. Also of 80s German rock music and film music. In the end, this song was created and the result of many lockdown hours in my studio.
I shot the videos at the beautiful Steinsee at Moosach near Munich / Germany.
My very first synth was the Roland SH-101 around 1985 at the age of 16, which I had in red. A real classic in music history!
In 2019, Behringer launched a clone synth of the Roland SH-101, the MS-101 or MS-1. It was clear then that I had to buy it immediately. I am enthusiastic about the instrument and wanted to create an atmosphere that promotes the typical mono lead synth sound of the 70s with portamento and pitch bending and slowly builds up a tension, as it is known from film music or progressive rock songs of the 70s. And of course I built in the sound of my Hohner melodica Piano 26 from the 60s.
