NW1, today's opponent, is an alliance of the same caliber as UTB, with the same objective: qualifying for the Ultimate Conquest.
The battle would have been a close one, and either alliance could have secured victory. However, NW1 tried to increase their chances of winning by seeking help from players in WxC. Nonetheless, UTB, suspecting this might happen, balanced the situation by also getting help from BaN players.
