===== ABOUT THIS SHOW =====
Throughout time, the sky has piqued our curiosity. Eclipses, the regular cycle of the seasons, the rising and setting of the Moon, Sun, and planets, the motion of the stars — all have fascinated mankind since our earliest ancestors first looked up. Monuments constructed across our home planet, from Stonehenge to Machu Picchu, bear witness to humanity's ancient fascination with the stars.
With occasional observations from a learned cartoon astronomer, "Alvin Astro", we retrace the milestones of cosmic discovery in this engaging history of astronomy. Rediscover the major astronomical theories of the last 3,000 years — from the cosmological models of antiquity and the Ptolemaic system of epicycles — to the contributions of Copernicus, Galileo, Kepler, Newton, Herschel and Hubble. From Galileo's telescope to modern instruments used on Earth and in space, see how cutting-edge technology reveals a multi-wavelength universe of planets, star birth regions, nebulae, pulsars, black holes and galaxies.
Astronomy: 3000 Years of Stargazing combines the videography and animation created by Antares FullDome of Barcelona (who originally produced the show in 2009) with the soundtrack expertise of Loch Ness Productions. This version features a revised script and narration by Carolyn Collins Petersen, plus music from the vast resources of the original and popular planetarium space music library created by Mark C. Petersen. Mark also provides the voice of Alvin Astro.

===== ABOUT THIS FULLDOME TRAILER =====
Fulldome shows are meant to be projected onto a hemispherical dome surface typically found in planetarium theaters. Viewed on a flat screen, the imagery looks curved or warped at the edges; when projected using fisheye-lens equipment, the images look correct. This HD video was cropped from spherical-mirror warped dome masters to highlight the movie's theater-front sweet spot.
This preview is intended primarily to provide a taste of the show's content to planetarium professionals looking for shows to display in their theaters.
More information about this fulldome show, and access to a preview of the entire show, can be found on the Loch Ness Productions Website: https://www.lochnessproductions.com/s...
--- ABOUT VR DOME THEATER SHOWS ---
The VR Dome Theater provides immersive 360° spherical videos -- to desktop screens, portable devices, and VR headsets. Experience the fulldome movies you might see at your local planetarium -- from the comfort of your own chair!
There are thousands of planetarium theaters around the world. Under their domes, audiences take in the sights and sounds of the universe -- stars and galaxies, planets and moons. People learn the ways of science and nature. And they revel in enlightening and entertaining artistic and musical performances. We thought, "How can we provide the same great planetarium cinema theater experience to people's screens, devices, and VR headsets?"
So, in 360° spherical video, we created a virtual dome theater. The seats are in the bottom half of the sphere; above, the dome show plays on the top half -- just like in a real planetarium. You, the viewer, are positioned at the center (the prime location). The seat backs often recline in real planetarium theaters, so you don't have to crane your neck too much to look up at the dome. In the Vera Rubin VR Dome Theater, we tilted the dome forward to compensate, which actually simulates the layout in many real-world tilted dome theaters.
