Hi guys, in this weeks video, we are back on  the road in our trusty van ,Dora.

We heard about Avebury being an interesting place to visit with a strange energy from the multiple Neolithic stone circles, and still today a lot mystery surrounding the area.
Also, it has one of the most haunted pubs in England, the Red Lion in Avebury, which is actually in the stone circle and haunted by a ghost called Florrie.

No one really knows the reason for the circles. The ditch around, which is called a henge, would have been around 6 meters deep with an additional 7 meter bank on the one side, making it a truly impressive sight.

The circles consist of one main circle around the inside of the henge with two smaller inner circles. One on the north side and one on the south side, each would have had their own unique arrangement of stones inside them.

In the video, we show the stone circles and the two Portal stones, which were gateways into the circle. They were through to be four gateways into the circle. But only three stones are there today.
A lot of stones have been restored back to where they are believed to have been in the past by an Archaeologist many years ago. As many were buried in what historians believe was an attempt to destroy it for whatever reason.

By Avebury, there is West Kennet Avenue, which is a collection of Neolithic standing stones.
There are so many interesting Neolithic places to explore and visit in the area.

We also went to West Kennet Long Barrow, which is a burial mound dating back to 3650 BC and Silbury Hill, which is a Neolithic monument and the tallest prehistoric man-made mound in Europe.

We left that area and travelled to Stonehenge as it was not far away. It was a great choice. The park up was amazing. The prefect ends to a prefect Neolithic weekend!!
