As you guys may know, when I’m at home in Miami, I crave the food I would normally eat when I travel the world. Especially Indian food. So I decided to go on another eating Indian food for 24 hours adventure, this time in my hometown of Miami, Florida. Join me as I set out to try a lobster tikka masala, a royal sizzler, and more!

I’d be going to two Indian restaurants I’d never visited before and I was so excited! I love checking out new restaurants! My adventure began at Saffron Indian Cuisine in Pinecrest. They serve north and south Indian cuisine there and I could not wait to eat!

My adventure began at Saffron Indian Cuisine in Pinecrest. They serve north and south Indian cuisine there and I could not wait to eat! Inside, I met the owner, Danny. The décor inside is meant to resemble the entrance to the City Palace in Jaipur.

The ambiance is very cozy and colorful. They have paintings of the doorways of the palace and a golden Buddha on the walls!

I started with some chai, which is one of my favorite things to drink in Miami. Then, I headed into the kitchen to watch the cooks prepare a bunch of dishes including lobster tikka masala, samosas, gobi Manchurian, sea bass, chicken lollipops, eggplant, a rice dish with dried fruit and cashews, mint paratha, drunken lamb, cheese garlic naan, and more.

I’d never seen a mint paratha before! This north and south Indian feast was going to be incredible!

Danny and I started with the lamb samosa, which was very different and minty. There were so many flavors and textures from the lamb and cilantro. I loved it with the mint-chili-chilantro chutney, but the tamarind chutney was the best for me!

Next were the Bombay-style chicken lollipops, a light gobi Manchurian, sea bass in a rich coconut curry, a mint paratha, sweet saffron naan, garlic naan, and a unique lobster tikka masala. I’d never seen it anywhere!

Next was the tender drunken lamb, tandoori chicken with a mint chutney marination, and baby eggplant. Then, we finished with some creamy kheer and rasmalai.

Then, I headed over to Namaste Miami in Coral Gables. There, I met Shravan, who prepared a special lunch for me. I started with some Sula wine!

They made a thali with lamb, samosa, raita, and salad, as well as tandoori chicken wings, and more. We started with some crisp rice snacks with tamarind chutney.

Next were papdi chaat, a samosa, aloo tikki, and more. The papdi chaat was nice and crunchy, while the aloo tikki was like a crispy fritter.

Then, we had a non-veg platter with a veg kebab and a sweet-and-sour baby corn chili. The chilli chicken wasn’t too spicy, and the tandoori chicken was tender, smoky, and buttery.

I followed that with lamb rogain josh, kadai paneer, chicken tikka masala, goat biryani, dal makhana, bullet naan, and shrimp and momos with gold leaf on top! The goat biryani was nice and light, and I mixed the rice with the curries. The naan with everything on the plate was amazing!

Then, I headed back to my office and then took my leftovers back to my dad. I was so full from eating earlier that I couldn’t eat anything except a few bites of papdi chaat!

He started with the chicken momo with gold leaf and moved on to the papdi chaat before grabbing a bit of everything! He loves Indian food as much as I do and loved trying so many new dishes!
