I originally played this on the N64. In fact, I've never seen the arcade game. There really is no difference. If you told me this was just an N64 with a coin slot attached, I'd believe you. I guess that makes it an accurate port.

It's...it exists. If you liked the original, this really is no different at all. In fact, it feels unfair to say this, but it's bigger, better, and more explodey. That should be a good thing, right? I mean, it is, but....

As I mentioned in the Rampage notes, no one was yearning for the classic gameplay. That's just not what people remembered Rampage for. This game could have leaned on the destruction and camp, presenting something tonally the same but unique to play. Remember when the N64 was touting destructive environments? Animate the monsters half as good as Mario and throw them in a destructive playground. That's your game and it would have brought something new to the table. This just feels uneccessary.
