Curators' Tour of Hew Locke: what have we here? exhibition at the British Museum

Описание к видео Curators' Tour of Hew Locke: what have we here? exhibition at the British Museum

Like many museums across the world, the British Museum’s history and collections are closely linked with those of empire.
Guyanese-British artist and sculptor Hew Locke has been working in collaboration with over twenty curators across the Museum, exploring the histories of treasures and lesser known objects from the collection. By juxtaposing objects from different cultures and periods, alongside his own work, he raises important questions around Empire, colonialism and the British Museum itself.
Join Hew Locke and co-curator Isabel Seligman on a tour through this ground-breaking exhibition, as they make their own connections with objects and bring their own histories to bear on the subject matter.
