Workshop on Network Pharmacology (Part-1): Online Session on Database Mining

Описание к видео Workshop on Network Pharmacology (Part-1): Online Session on Database Mining

Network pharmacology approach has many applications in drug discovery and repurposing. It attempts to predict drug action through interactions with multiple targets using computational methods on available data. The mechanistic plausibility of natural products used in traditional medicine systems like Ayurveda can be explored using the network pharmacology approach. Botanicals based on Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine have been successfully explored for their putative targets in different diseases and disorders using network pharmacology.

The researchers of AYUSH Center of Excellence, CCIH, ISHS, SPPU are working with the tools of network pharmacology. The network pharmacology tool utilizes the reported data from databases of compound structures, protein targets, diseases, and biological pathways. It predicts the probable association of bioactives with disease/pathway through protein targets. Therefore, it is necessary to retrieve data from desired databases before network construction. The online session is focused on introduction to network pharmacology and demonstration of database mining.

Mr Akash Saggam, a Research Fellow and Ph.D. Scholar from AYUSH Center of Excellence demonstrated the database mining to retrieve the data of Bioactive-Target-Disease/Pathway. The complete workshop material can be found here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folder...
