643kms covered in 12 hours, and condensed to 30 minutes for YouTube. This journey was made in November 2020. The vehicle was a Toyota Fortuner and two drivers. The route was via Tumkur, Chitradurga, Hosapete and Vijayapura (Bijapur). We started the drive at 9:45AM and reached our destination at Sholapur at 9:45PM. The roads were well maintained all the way till Vijayapur (Bijapur). From then on the four lane highway was under construction. We continued our journey through an alternate route; through the unknown small villages of Vijayapura district. The most tiresome part of the journey was the last part where it was through village roads in pitch darkness.

On this route are few scenic locations like the Tunghabhadra view point near Hosapete, and the Almatti Dam site near Nidagundi. The usual hotel chains like Kamat or Saravana Bhavans which other wise dot the highways in South India seems to be missing here.
