Today I am answering a commonly asked question about consent for Rhinoplasty, also known as a nose job. Consent is a very important aspect of modern day medicine is important that you understand exactly what the procedure is you're having, and that you understand what the implications are for recovery, and the potential risks associated with the procedure.

So what are the principles of rhinoplasty consent?
Informed decision. No person can make that decision for you as a patient, you have to have an understanding of what that procedure is, and you have to be able to make a decision that it's right for you. And that means being able to understand what the procedure is, what the potential advantages and expectations that you can achieve. And of course, the limitations. What are the alternatives to having surgery? Because sometimes there can be alternatives such as non surgical treatments? What does the recovery involve? What are the potential risks? And what are the complications that are specific to you know, informing your GP in confidentiality, allowing adequate time and of course, confidentiality. And finally, this is if this if you feel you have enough information, that's great. Or you may need further information or further time in order to make that decision.
