Attock Railway bridge was made over indus river at junction point of Punjab and kpk, it was a strategic bridge which was built under British raj in subcontinent,
this Railway bridge has 5 spans and it is 1395 feet long, it has two levels, upper level is being used for Railroad and lower portion was used for road traffic, attock Railway bridge was opened for traffic by 24th may 1880,
initially British government wanted to make a tunnel under the river and they started working, the width and height of tunnel was 24x24 feet and was digging under 82 feet of river bed, but after having several leakages in the tunnel they stopped and then they abandoned this tunnel project, and finally they agreed to cross it by making a bridge over the river, does that tunnel still exists?
