A medicine called Coldrif Cough Syrup by Sresan Pharmaceuticals — meant to treat cough and fever — was found adulterated with Diethylene Glycol (DEG), a chemical used as an Industrial Anti-Freezing agent in products like Paints, Brake Fluid and Plastics
Lab tests revealed 46–48% DEG, when the safe limit is practically zero. This toxin causes acute kidney failure, rapidly progressive in children, leading to vomiting, loss of urine, coma, and eventually death

These weren’t isolated accidents — the WHO and CDC have repeatedly warned about such tragedies. The same chemical has killed children in Gambia, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, and even India before — every few years, same story, different labels.
