Carnival is a sort of religious festivity invented by Catholics. It is a festive season that occurs at the close of the Christian pre-Lenten period, consisting of Quinquagesima or Shrove Sunday, Shrove Monday, and Shrove Tuesday or Mardi Gras. It’s now involving processions, music, dancing, and the use of masquerade. In the old days, these kinds of festivity were banned by law, which said that no fun. One of the laws is to limit fun and lead people into the paths of righteousness. This seldom works, however, for when it comes to pleasure, people will sooner or later find a way to indulge themselves, and no one has ever succeeded in introducing law for virtue. But still, they keep trying to bring in any law that will restrict people's freedom to enjoy themselves. It is up to the people to fight back against the system that limits their ability to enjoy life.
