Food 4 Thought - Cook caught with fingers in the molé

Описание к видео Food 4 Thought - Cook caught with fingers in the molé

The list of restaurants inspected this week across the Rio Grande Valley may be small, but the impact resulting from dirty dining is sure to make a big impact for people who eat out.

Hygienic practices came into question at El Charrito on 774 Central Boulevard in Brownsville.

A cook was caught with their fingers improperly inside mole to remove fallen debris, according to a health report.

Another violation indicated that a worker touched potatoes with their bare hands.

Kitchen cops have warned in the past on Food 4 Thought about the health risks from potential cross contamination and other hygiene concerns.

Roy Morton, who owns El Charrito, initially tried to defend the actions by citing how people at home touch food that way all the time.

The restaurant scored a total of 28 demerits between the dirty ice water used to cool foods, lack of towels for proper sanitation and an off temperature double cooler.

Morton blamed his high demerits on poor inspection work and discredits local top-performing restaurants as "Nonsense."
