The test render of the fur in a realtime in UE.
Lily Leksina - sculpting Zbrush, modeling Maya, texturing Substance Painter, gromming Xgen, work with Alembic Cache.
Roman Babyсh - setup the scene and model in an Unreal Engine, working with cameras and render.
The actions were made:
1. Convert Xgen Groom into Interactive Groom
2. Alembic Backer UVs script to get good position of curves on UVmap. This is necessary for the proper fur texturing along the length of the hair. From roots to tips.
3. Created Alembic Cache file with fur curves, put it into UE with FBX files of model.
4. Setting material and worked with cameras in Unreal Engine.
5. Render
6. Added sound track to the shot.
For the test, we took a stunning training environment scene from the project with meetkat created by Weta Digital.
