A few months ago we took the trip to Florida for the annual FL2K18 event. This event has been home to some of the fastest Supras and GTRs known in our sport amongst other cars. Bradenton Motorsports Park hosts the event each year and it always brings out tons of fast cars. This particular GTR is owned PJ who's a long time car enthusiast from New York City. He's had this GTR along with another R35 dating back to 2010, if not a bit earlier. His goal was to run the quarter mile in 7 seconds on a drag radial tire. Many of the GTR's we see have setups which a slick. PJ wanted to push the boundaries on the drag radial while being consistent. He definitely achieved his goal as the car went test at Atco Dragway and ran 7's on four passes that day. Then he loaded up and headed out to Florida for FL2K so he could show the world that it was no fluke. The car ran flawlessly all weekend as he ran multiple 7 second passes. Congrats to PJ and his team. We have a feeling as 2019 progresses he won't stay quiet. How much deeper into the 7's can he go?
