The fit and finish of these drums is nothing less than spectacular! I mean these were on sale for $500. You can’t compare them to anything else in that price range. I tried out drums that were $2,800 (Gretsch) that were really good too. Better? I guess maybe? It’s a little subjective of course. But to me, no way were they $2,300 better.

After this I assembled it. Lubed the tension rods. Tuned it based on the videos from ‪@MostlyBopDrums‬ Thanks guys! But I have to say I think I am way off on the kick tuning. Or maybe I just don’t understand how an 18” kick tuned for jazz should sound. I’ve never played an 18” drum of any kind for that matter….

I realize one little thing I really liked that I failed to mention. The tension rods have washers that don’t come off. WIth my fingers I don’t need to be dropping more stuff!

I see no reason these couldn’t be used as a professional drum kit. I am a very new drummer with less than 8 months experience. So maybe I’m not the best critic. But these are certainly more quality than I need for a kit to play jazz a little. It’s a second kit. The best $500 I have spent on my drums. And really nice to have drums that are brand new, that nobody else played. Nothing wrong with them. No issues!
