Partial die-cutting is a technique used in paper crafting to create a unique effect on a project. It involves cutting only a portion of a shape or image using a die-cutting machine, leaving the rest of the shape intact. Here's how to do partial die-cutting:

Steps:

Cut a piece of cardstock to the desired size and fold it in half to create your card base.

Place your metal die on the front of the card where you want the partial cut to be. Make sure that the part of the die you want to cut is aligned with the area you want to cut on the card.

Take a piece of scrap cardstock or paper and fold it in half. Place the folded edge of the scrap paper slightly above the edge of the die.

Place the card and the scrap paper on the cutting mat and run it through the die-cutting machine. The scrap paper should protect the part of the card you don't want to cut.

Remove the card and carefully fold the cut area back along the fold line. Use a bone folder to create a crisp fold.

Decorate the card as desired, using adhesive to attach any embellishments.

Partial die-cutting can be used to create a variety of effects, such as creating a window or frame on the front of the card or adding dimension to an image. Experiment with different dies and designs to create unique and interesting cards!
