UK County Flags - An animation

Many of counties within the UK have existed for the best part of a thousand years and contrary to a general misunderstanding, have never been abolished. It may therefore come as something of a surprise to learn that Caernarfonshire, Middlesex, Banffshire, Westmorland and Cumberland all still exist. Such misunderstandings have arisen because of the association made between local administrations, generally termed councils and counties. This video looks at the current county flags for Great Britain (as Northern Ireland has yet to adopt any official, county flags).
