The Delhi High Court has given a big verdict in the case of conspiracy related to the riots in North-East Delhi in the year 2020. The court has rejected the bail plea of Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam. Along with them, the court has also rejected the bail pleas of Mohammad Salim Khan, Shifa ur Rehman, Athar Khan, Meeran Haider, Abdul Khalid Saifi and Gulfisha Fatima. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing on behalf of the prosecution, had argued that this was a conspiracy to defame India in the world. In such a situation, it would not be right to grant bail only on the ground that the accused have been in jail for a long time.

उत्तर-पूर्वी दिल्ली में साल 2020 में हुए दंगों से जुड़ी साजिश के मामले में दिल्ली हाईकोर्ट ने बड़ा फैसला सुनाया है. अदालत ने उमर खालिद और शरजील इमाम की जमानत याचिका को खारिज कर दिया है. इनके साथ ही मोहम्मद सलीम खान, शिफा उर रहमान, अतहर खान, मीरान हैदर, अब्दुल खालिद सैफी और गुलफिशा फातिमा की जमानत याचिकाएं भी कोर्ट ने खारिज कर दी हैं. अभियोजन की ओर से पेश हुए सॉलिसिटर जनरल तुषार मेहता ने दलील दी थी कि यह दुनिया में भारत को बदनाम करने की साजिश थी. ऐसे में सिर्फ इस आधार पर जमानत देना ठीक नहीं होगा कि आरोपी लंबे समय से कैद में हैं.
