Canon XF605 vs Sony FX6 Comparison Footage

This wasn't a very scientific test, but the exposures and white balances were matched with 18% grey card. Sony was shot in CINE EI (SLOG3 SG3.Cine) and Canon was shot in CLog3 Cine gamut. Color correction in Davinci Resolve. Lens on the FX6 was Sigma 24-70 DG DN 2.8.

The color correction was very basic. Just contrast stretching and white balance matching. No LUTs were used. I did a pass with ACES transform for the indoor shots just to see how ACES would match the two cameras and what skin tones would look like.

Overall, the XF605 holds up very well, and I prefer its colors out of the box over the FX6 in some situations. The XF605's dynamic range is not as big as the FX6's, but still very very usable for a small sensor camera. I did not have time to test low light, and the FX6's high base sensitivity will win hands down.
