Описание к видео Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (1992) | All Emerald Locations | 4K Master System Real Hardware | Retrotink 4K

Full playthrough of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, released in 1992 for the Sega Master System. This was Aspects first crack at the blue blur after Ancients excellent effort in the first title, and they did a superb job. This was another game I played to death in the 90's on my Game Gear, so I will always be bias with my opinion. The gameplay was improved, with new gimmicks, Improved visuals and a new game engine.

Not all was positive back in the day though, This version of Sonic 2 was released after Tails had made his debut in the Megadrive original. At the time, Tails was a big deal to Sonic fans, so getting this and seeing Tails get kidnapped in the opening cut scene was incredibly disappointing and very cheap considering he appeared on the box and advertising of the game. There's obviously a reason we couldn't have Tails follow Sonic on the far less powerful 8-bit machines, but kids don't tend to be logical when it comes to disappointment, especially when false advertising is involved. That Being said, the game stands on it's own feet as a great Sonic title, even without Tails.

******* Notes on this Video *******
This playthrough was captured on a VA1, Asian, Model 1 Megadrive fitted with a Master Base Converter. I have modded the console with a custom RGB Triple Bypass to remove noise and the dreaded jailbars. This is arguably the best picture output possible from any Megadrive/Genesis. The VA1's are hard to find, so if you are a creator, and need any footage for a video, contact me, and I'll sort it out for you.

The gameplay was integer scaled and correctly clocked with the RetroTink 4K, recorded in 4K using the M.2 Avermedia 4K Live Gamer capture card, both great bits of equipment, highly recommended for retro game enthusiasts.

I upload these playthroughs, mainly for real hardware footage preservation, which is why I use no watermarks or overlays and record the footage in integer scaled 4:3. Feel free to use it as you wish, all I ask, is you don't just reupload it in full. Credit to my main channel would be greatly appreciated, but not required. Youtube, obviously bit-crushes video and audio while compressing, so if you want the raw footage of this video, contact me.
