Ever since The Walt Disney Company announced the acquisition of LucasFilm and an upcoming Episode VII, Hollywood has had Star Wars on the brain.

According to Entertainment Weekly, one of the stars sounding off was Iron Man director Jon Favreau who said, "The idea of another trilogy that further shrouds the Force in mystery as its secrets are lost to time -- that's extremely compelling." Star Trek director J.J. Abrams recently expressed conflicting emotions after the announcement was made, saying, "Part of me? Thrilled. Part of me? Terrified. Most of me? Thrillified."

Sin City director Robert Rodriguez is excited for the upcoming Star Wars installment, saying, "I do think Disney is the best studio for the job and the fact that they brought in Kathleen Kennedy? I can't imagine a better scenario. And 2015 can't get here fast enough."

In a statement released by George Lucas, the famed director said, "It's now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of filmmakers," but who would be the best candidate to take over directing duties from Lucas' uber successful franchise? According to Entertainment Weekly, some say Dave Filoni, who was the director of the supervising director of the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Although, fans are already rallying for bigger names like Christopher Nolan, Peter Jackson, J.J. Abrams, Joss Whedon, or Jon Favreau to direct the upcoming film.
