Valedictory Speech by Poojya Sri Ramanacharanatirtha (Nochur) Swamiji
This valedictory address was delivered at Sri Arunachala Ramana Atma Vidya Mandir, Tiruvannamalai, on the auspicious occasion marking the conclusion of a 54-day residential course on the Bhagavad Gita.
In his inspiring speech, Poojya Swamiji highlighted the importance of self-inquiry, devotion, and disciplined study in attaining inner clarity and peace. He explained how Bhagawan Ramana Maharshi consistently emphasized the spiritual significance of the Bhagavad Gita, regarding it as a timeless guide to inner transformation.
Swamiji drew a profound parallel between the teachings imparted by Krishna to Arjuna on the battlefield of life and the guidance offered by Ramana Maharshi to spiritual seekers. He explained that the essence of Krishna’s message—self-knowledge, surrender, and freedom from ego—was conveyed by Ramana through the simplified and direct practice of Atma Vichara. According to Swamiji, both teachings ultimately point to the same truth: realizing one’s true nature through inner inquiry and awareness.
He also acknowledged the dedicated guidance of the Ashram’s Acharya, Swami Ramana Swaroopananda, whose tireless efforts enabled the course to be successfully completed in one continuous program.
Poojya Sri Ramanacharanatirtha Swamiji (Nochur Swami) is a highly respected teacher of Advaita Vedanta in India. He is renowned for his deep scholarship, clarity of expression, and ability to present profound spiritual truths in a simple and practical manner.
