Welcome to the pack Koda the Malamute’s sister Bella

Today was a special day for Koda the Malamute. His sister Bella joined the pack today. Bella the Malamute didn’t pass assessment the first time for the farm. That’s ok, the farm isn’t for every dog. But Koda was determined to have his big sister join in on the fun every Friday.

He didn’t want to have to only tell her about it every week. Bella has been working on her training and socialisation to return.

Well today was the day. Bella can struggle to accurately read other dogs, which means a non threatening situation can cause her to be defensive or reactive. Whilst she started off nervously, after some training work with Jason and Luke it didn’t take long for Bella to listen and be responsive which meant Luke could communicate with Bella to guide her through the social situations.

By lunchtime, Bella had fully relaxed and was enjoying her day with her brother at the farm. She felt safe and no need to be on edge in this environment.

But no one was more proud and excited about Bella passing her assessment than her little brother Koda. He was cheering her on the whole day, checking in with Uncle Luke and celebrating her wins.

P.S Gilbert the Weimaraner has well and truly mastered hat thievery! And … 🥁… Ziggy jumped off the dock. Whilst we kind of could hardly believe it the first time, he then went and did it a second time much to our surprise. 😮 Good on you Ziggy!
