U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City rescued four children stranded on a rock near the Black Beach Trailhead in Silver Bay, Minnesota, according to U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City.

The Coast Guard Sector Northern Great Lakes said they received a request for helicopter assistance around 9 p.m., Sunday August 17 from Lake County, Minnesota, reporting that the children were unable to safely leave the rock due to "hazardous conditions."

An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew was dispatched to the scene.

The crew successfully hoisted all four children from the rock and transported them to a nearby field where Emergency Medical Services personnel and the children's parents were waiting.
