How to make the Rosita Cocktail
1.5 oz or 45 ml Reposado Tequila
0.5 oz or 15 ml Campari
0.5 oz or 15 ml Sweet Vermouth
0.5 oz or 15 ml Dry Vermouth
1 Dash Angostura bitters

TThe Rosita cocktail is a lesser-known tequila-based drink with a rich history that dates back to the 1970s. It was first published in the 1974 edition of the Mr. Boston Official Bartender's Manual, introducing a blend of tequila, sweet and dry vermouth, and Campari. Despite its early appearance, the Rosita remained relatively obscure until the 1990s when it was rediscovered and popularized by legendary bartender Gary Regan. He featured it in his 1991 book The Bartender's Bible, bringing this elegant cocktail to a wider audience. Gary "GAZ" Regan tweaked the original recipe, increasing the amount of tequila and adding a touch of Angostura bitters. The result was an even better cocktail than its already delightful predecessor, and this is the recipe we now recognize as the Rosita cocktail.

Though sometimes likened to a tequila Negroni, the Rosita is much more than a simple tequila twist on that classic. Its unique combination of ingredients creates a complex interplay of bitter, sweet, and herbal flavors that stand apart, offering a distinctive and sophisticated experience all its own.
