Air Source Heat Pump | Panasonic UK | 2024 - Part 1

Recently installed a Panasonic Aquarea L Series R290 air source heat pump for our Client's new build/self build home project in Shropshire. We had specified the project in it's early stages in February this year and we had considered a number of solutions and brands. The customer opted for the Panasonic heat pump solution option which also comes with the Panasonic All in One 185L Integrated Tank which is now installed in the purpose built airing cupboard.

The system has been commissioned for almost 2 weeks now and our Client has the included Panasonic Network Adapter connected with their WIFI so now the system can be controlled from their smart devices with the Panasonic Comfort Cloud App. For added peace of mind we also registered the new system on the Panasonic Service Cloud. This is a free of charge service provided by Panasonic which enables the Installation Company and Panasonic Technical with Client consent to remotely monitor the new system for performance and for future maintenance purposes. It is a fantastic concept and great for additional peace of mind for Clients.
As a Panasonic Pro Partner we provide a 7 Year Warranty with the system also.

Although this particular system has been installed in a new build property, the L Series is a serious game changer now for retrofit projects in existing Homes with older existing radiators for example as the R290 refrigerant technology enables the heat pump to deliver up to 75 degrees flow temperature for heating if required in the colder months and whilst using less energy. R290 is a natural refrigerant with a low Global Warming Potential of just 3. R32 refrigerant has a GWP of 675 and the older heat pumps using R410A has a GWP of 2088 so the technology has improved towards helping the planet massively.
The R32 units are absolutely fantastic and perform exceptionally well whether in new builds or retrofits with existing emitters and there are R32 ‘High Temp’ units on the market that perform exceptionally well but the new R290 has that edge where the capability is available should the Client require that higher flow temperature using less energy.
