065. How to - Safely Remove & Replace Body - Hattons Originals Class 66 - Detailed Instructions (4K)

Описание к видео 065. How to - Safely Remove & Replace Body - Hattons Originals Class 66 - Detailed Instructions (4K)

This video shows how to safely (without damage to parts) remove & especially to replace the Body, on a Hattons Originals 00-gauge Class 66 diesel locomotive, because of those awkward lower chassis steps handrails.
It also shows you how the realign a displaced internal Cab moulding (causing Cab Bulge Syndrome) without having to remove the Body.
It’s a bit late to the party regarding how to cure the few problems with this otherwise superb model (this is the 2nd of two videos dealing with them, Nos. 064 & 065), but fills in the missing details those other videos missed or just breezed over. This video gets right in there & should therefore not leave you guessing.

I did the filming Dec 2021, but my old laptop was knackered, so no attempt was made to create the intended YouTube video at the time. However, I now have a very nice laptop & in late Feb 2023, saw a Hornby Magazine (Key Model World) video announcing the new Accurascale Class 66. I thought WTF, we don’t need yet another one on the market, then they explained Accurascale had bought the tooling from Hattons & cured its problems among other minor improvements. So I thought I better compile these very detailed videos & get them out there before they lose relevance.

This is the follow-on video to No. 064. That one shows you how to cure the rock & roll motion of the body due to the misaligned Bogie Side Plates with the rotating Axel Boxes.

But why do I have this model in the first place……
I don’t really do modern image, but back in 2011 I was at Newton Abbot Station with a mate who lives nearby. An immaculate Colas Rail Class 66 No. 66847 turned up with an empty logging train of interesting KFA-T timber wagons. It was going to go up the branch line to Teigngrace logging camp to get wood to take to the Kronospan mill in Chirk.
See my video No. 025 to watch this timber train.
Ironically, Dapol is based in Chirk, so I challenged them to make the KFA-Ts to go with Hattons Colas Rail Freight Class 66s .
My loco is No. 66848, not the 66847 hauling the timber train. Hattons made 66847, but I was unaware at the time & it sold out. So I could change the 8 to a 7, but need advice on who does compatible transfers.
Any answers in the Comments please.
