2mm/ft scale model rope worked incline being developed by Mick Simpson, as seen at Railwells August 2022
Loaded coal wagons are shunted to the top of the incline. A raised pin in the track simulates applying the wagon brakes and the locomotive retreats. The steel cable is then attached to the end wagon, with a very small magnet. A servo retracts the brake pin abd closes the trap point and the steel cable is unwound. Gravity takes over.
Empty wagons can then be pulled up the incline using the steel cable, ending on a level length of track to be picked up by the locomotive.
