The malong is a large, wrap-around tubular garment, measuring at least 165 x 165 cm. They are used by the Maranao and Maguindanao from southern Philippines. It can be worn by women as a dress and by men over trousers as a formal wear.

Handwoven malongs are made by Maranao, Maguindanaon, and T'boli weavers on a backstrap loom. The pattern or style of the malong may indicate the weaver's tribal origin, such as the Maranao malong landap.
The malong is traditionally used as a garment by both men and women of the numerous ethnic groups in the mainland Mindanao and parts of the Sulu Archipelago.
The malong serves many purposes. The Maranao newborn is wrapped in the best malong. And as he grows to adulthood, the malong is his indispensable companion until death, when he is wrapped again, for the last time, in his best malong.
