I complete Bowser in the Fire Sea with red coins using 0 A presses on the Wii VC version of the game. This is TAS.

This video is an improvement from my previous video in which I did this using 1 A press (   • SM64 - Bowser in the Fire Sea (with R...  ). Since then, Andru! found that the rising/sinking platforms in BitFS slowly move over time, as they approach an average height of 0. This is due to the fact that the platform height oscillation operations are handled differently on the different game versions: The Wii VC version of the game rounds the float operations towards zero, whereas the N64 version of the game rounds the float operations towards the nearest float value. And so by waiting on the platforms for 3 days, Mario rises high enough to bypass the pole. Therefore, the Wii VC version of the game can be beaten in 0 A presses.

Note: I TASed this using a modified version of Mupen that was designed to mimic the Wii VC's float rounding mode. It's not clear how accurate this Mupen version emulates the Wii VC version of the game, but we assume the differences are negligible enough such that the strat in this video would be possible on Wii VC. Additionally, Ethan White has beaten BitFS 0x on Wii VC non-TAS (   • BitFS 0x A Presses  ), so there's not much reason to think that this couldn't be done on actual hardware.
